Graduate alum Sarah Herron shares her baby died after giving birth at 24 weeks pregnant

Sarah Herron mourns the loss of her newborn son, Oliver Brown.

The Bachelor the alum shared on Feb. 1 that she and fiancé Dylan BrownThe “beautiful son” of was born on January 28, when she was 24 weeks pregnant, and “died in his father’s arms shortly after”.

She paired the heartbreaking Instagram post with a black-and-white photo of Oliver lying across her chest as Dylan kisses Sarah’s forehead.

“There are no words for the extent of loss and grief we are experiencing,” she wrote in the post. “It’s beautiful and tragic at the same time. He had my nose and his father’s mouth and long fingers.”

Sarah, who has been engaged to Dylan since May 2021, called Oliver their “IVF miracle,” who “defied so many odds and struggled through so many tough milestones to be here, but the higher powers still had other plans for the three of us.”

The 36-year-old said although her time with Oliver “was brief,” the pair are “grateful for the days we spent with Oliver in my tummy.”

“He taught us so much about the integrity of life and love and death,” she added. “Oliver filled our home and hearts with so much love and most of all, optimism. The stars aligned to create Baby Oliver with a deep and meaningful purpose greater than we will ever understand. His body was small, but His legacy will always be greater than life for us.”

She recalled some treasured memories she spent alongside Oliver while pregnant with him, including cozy mornings with her dog Rio.

“Oliver swam with sea turtles, kept me company while I recovered from a broken knee, and loved his dad’s cooking,” she said. “Most of all, Oliver loved his morning routine of lying down heart to heart with his brother, Rio, on my lap.”

Sharing a carousel of photos from her pregnancy, Sarah concluded her message by reminding that, most of all, she will always treasure her child.

“As our hearts are shattered beyond understanding, we are comforted in knowing that our child’s soul has only ever known love and will not suffer in a body that was not built for this life,” she said. “We’ll never understand the cruelty of it all, but through the darkness, Oliver remains so so brilliant. We love you so much, baby. You will never be replaced. You are so perfect and amazing.”

Sarah, who appeared on Sean Lowe‘s season of The bachelor in 2013, she announced her pregnancy last September.
