Cameron Diaz ‘She Was Nervous Before’ Filming Her Comeback With Jamie Foxx, But Now She’s ‘Enjoying It’

Cameron Diaz is “having a good time” as she shoots her next movie on Netflix Back in actionmarking his anticipated return to acting.

A source close to Diaz, 50, tells PEOPLE the actress had fun on the set of Back in action in London, where he has been filming since early February with his costar Jamie Foxx.

“Cameron has been shooting in London for several weeks,” says the source. “She was nervous before arriving in London, but then very excited.”

“The shoot was great. Cameron really likes it. They did a lot of night shoots,” the source adds. “He didn’t bother her, because she’s jet lagged anyway. Her family is with her for support.”

Also, another source tells PEOPLE that the Charlie’s Angels actress and Foxx, 55, “have great chemistry” on set.

“Everyone loves working with them,” says the source. “They’re both incredibly hardworking and never complain. Cameron is a sweetheart on set. She’s super relaxed and down to earth.”

“He keeps telling the crew he’s so excited to film again,” adds the second source.

Diaz took a step back from her film career after last appearing as Miss Hannigan in 2014 Annie remake. She announced her casting in the film and return to film in June 2022 during a cheeky taped phone call with then-unretired Tom Brady and Foxx, with whom she co-starred in Annie. Diaz and Foxx also starred previously in 1999 Every Sunday.

A source close to the film told PEOPLE the following month, “When this project came along and she was pursued by Jamie Foxx, who she knows and has worked with for years, she decided to go for it.”

Diaz has been seen filming scenes in London multiple times over the past month. She was last seen filming night scenes in a speedboat on the Thames on Sunday.

In August 2022, Foxx shared with Entertainment tonight for which he convinced Diaz to retire from retirement Back in action proposing that they would have a good time.

“So it was literally, ‘Want to have some fun? Have some fun!’ And I think that’s what led her to do it,” she told the outlet.
